Soul Food Is Whole Food Black History Month Cooking Demonstration & Tasting
Celebrate Black History Month through food, culture, and wellness in Soul Food Is Whole Food, an interactive cooking demonstration with samples. This class explores the deep roots of traditional soul food—its African origins, its role in resilience and survival, and how it became a cornerstone of Black American culture.
Guests will watch live cooking demonstrations that highlight classic soul food flavors prepared using whole, fresh, and nourishing ingredients. As we cook, we’ll discuss how many original soul food dishes were naturally plant-forward and nutrient-rich—and how we can reclaim those traditions to support health and longevity today.
Participants will enjoy tastings of featured dishes, learn practical tips for making soul food healthier without sacrificing flavor, and engage in meaningful conversation about the future of soul food as a tool for empowerment, healing, and cultural preservation.
